Fergus Lodge 135 Meetings & Events News 01
January 2009 – Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful
Master John Deaton presided. All newly Elected and/or Appointed Officers There
was no Candidates work. 18 December 2008 – Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. See the DVD Photo Slide Show, obtainable at the next Lodge meeting, for pictures of all events. Brothers Wendell Geiger, his son Vince Geiger, and Billy Masters cooked Oyster Stew and Chicken Stew. All Lodge Members attending the Supper truly enjoyed the Stew and bragged on how good it was. Thank you Brothers Wendell, Vince, and Billy for your hours of time and effort in preparing and cooking the Stews. It was delicious, truly enjoyed and appreciated. It was good to see so many members at the Lodge Meeting on Election Night. We had 62 Members & 2 guest. It was an inspiring night and we all really enjoyed the supper, the meeting, the elections, the awards, and the camaraderie. A big “THANK YOU” is given to all out going Officers and committees. Congratulations to all newly Elected and/or Appointed Officers and Committees. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presented Brother Herman V McCart with a Plaque for his service as Fergus Lodge Web Master Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presented Brothers Vince Geiger & his father Brother Wendell Geiger with Plaques in recognition for all of their service as Master Chefs of the Brunswick Stew Cooks and the delicious Oyster Stew & Chicken Stew served tonight. Brothers Jerald Trentham & Donald Brown presented 2 Past Masters Gavels and a Past Masters Apron to out-going Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell. “THANK YOU” brother Todd for a job well done. Brothers Jerald Trentham & Donald Brown presented Brother Lamar Dalton with a Past Masters Gavel making him an Honorary Fergus Lodge Past Masters in recognition of all of his outstanding service to the Lodge and Community. Each Lodge Brother participated in the procession congratulating Brother Lamar on this prestigious award. Brothers Jerald Trentham presided over the 2009 Office Elections and installation of elected and appointed offices. Brother Bud Pearson acted as Marshal. 12/13 December 2008 – A successful Brunswick Stew Cook & Sale and BBQ Sale was held, 414 gallons of Stew were sold. Thanks to all Lodge Members that participated in the event. 04 December 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Five Fellowcraft Candidates completed their Catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. Two Fellowcraft were raised to Master Masons. 04
December 2008 - During the Lodge meeting, LaFayette
Johnson reported that his neighbor Wendy Bryson,
a single mother, was in need of assistance. We passed the Hat and collected
$251 for LaFayette to give to Wendy. 25 November 2008 - Brother Roger Swords had a very nice Funeral and Burial. Masons were well represented by having a record 25+ members present. A Masonic Service was held at the grave side. John Callahan, Grayson Lodge No. 549, presided over the Masonic Burial. 20 November 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Brother John Deaton presided as Worshipful Master. There was no Candidates work. 06 November 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Three Fellowcraft Candidates completed their Catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. October 2008: Brother J D Bright installed a big new Fergus Lodge Sign pro bono. Thank you Brother JD., the sign looks great. 16 October 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Five Fellowcraft Candidates completed their catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. 16 October 2008 - The Loganville Eastern Star Ladies served Ham or Turkey with all of the fixings for $8.00. 11 October 2008 - The Brunswick Stew Sale was a success with all 275 gallons of Stew cooked were sold in record time of less than 2 & 1/2 hours. Some regular customers with their names on the Contact List were upset that they did not arrive in time to get some Stew. Please explain to all customers that being on the Contact List only means that the individuals will be contacted to be notified of a Stew Sale. The only way to ensure any quantity of Stew is reserved for an individual is to pay in advance.
Thanks to the 20% of Lodge Members who supported the Stew Cook & Sale and especially to the 10% of Core Members that all always there.
The Fergus Lodge 135 Past Masters and Awards Dinner held in the Frank McCullers Memorial Hall on 11 October 2008 was a success with over 110 attendees who enjoyed a wonderful free meal.
Thanks to the 5% of Lodge Members that supported the Past Masters and Awards Dinner and especially to the 2% of Core Members that all always serving and cleaning up. 02 October 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Five Fellowcraft Candidates completed their catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. 18 September 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Tracy Moon’s 3 Fellow Craft Candidates completed their catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. WB Julian Hayes, 8th District, was a visitor and guest speaker. 04 September 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. This was a regular meeting with no candidates degree work. New Worshipful Master, 8th Masonic District of Georgia, Jim Stogden was present and guest speaker. Worshipful Master Jim Stogden encouraged all Masons to attend the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Georgia at Macon City Auditorium on 28 & 29 October 2008. 30 August 2008 - Brother David Still had a very nice Funeral and Burial. Masons were well represented by having a record 25+ members present. A Masonic Service was held at the grave side. John Callahan, Grayson Lodge No. 549, presided over the Masonic Burial. 21 August 2008 - The local Order of the Eastern Star provided an excellent Dinner, in Honor of Masons, in Frank McCullers Memorial Hall, at 6:30 PM. Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting at 7:30 PM. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. A group vote was taken on a Fellow Craft petition two times and for the 4th time a negative vote was received; the individual candidate was rejected. Five Entered Apprentices were advanced to Fellowcraft Degrees. 21 August 2008 - Fergus Lodge and the 55 or so members that took advantage of the Dinner provided by the local Order of the Eastern Star, in Honor of Masons, want to THANK the Ladies for an excellent meal. Josh’s Candidates will give their Master's catechism. Then 4 Fellow Craft Candidates completed their catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. 02 August 2008 - Thanks to the 12 or so Members that came out and help with us with our Fergus Lodge 135 Members Work Day at the Lodge Campus on Saturday 2 August 2008, 8 AM – 10 AM. Your time and efforts are appreciated. 17 July 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. This was a regular meeting with no candidates degree work. 03 July 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Three Fellow Craft candidates completed their catechism and were advanced to Master Degrees. 19 June 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Four Fellow Craft candidates were tested on their Catechism Proficiency Examination. A group vote was taken and a negative vote received 2 times; then individual votes were taken and 3 of the 4 candidates were each rejected. Because votes are secret ballets, the reason for the rejections is not know by anyone other then the Member casting the negative dissenting vote. 05 June 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Three Fellowcraft were raised to Master Masons. 15 May 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. It was a wonderful rainy night in Georgia. 01 May 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Four Fellowcraft were advanced. Brother Julian Hayes, Secretary 8th Masonic District, was a visitor and speaker. He invited Fergus Lodge Members to become active in 8th Masonic District activates. Brother Julian announced a GACHIP Program - Child ID Registration Training Program will be held this Saturday, 03 May 2008, at 12 Noon until 4:00 P.M. at Generous Warren Lodge #20 418 Highland Ave Monroe, GA. 17 April 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Four Entered Apprentices were advanced to Fellowcraft Degrees. 12 April 2008 - We had a great turnout at our Loganville Fergus Lodge 135 Annual Community Spring Bar-B-Que and Brunswick Stew Sale. Thanks to all who supported the Brunswick Stew & BBQ Cook & Sale. 03 April 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. There was not any Candidate Work. Some issues were discussed. 06 March 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Three Entered Apprentices were advanced to Fellowcraft Degrees. The lodge was packed to capacity with a number of visiting Brothers and a total of 85 attendees in all. On 03 March 2008 - an impressive Masonic Burial Service was preformed for Brother Timothy Brian Thacker by members from Fergus Lodge 135, Grayson Lodge 549, Generous Lodge Monroe, & Dacula Lodge 433. Brother Donnie Ethridge from Dacula Lodge 433 preformed the Burial Rites. Brother Sam Astin, Fergus Lodge 135, preformed as Chaplin. Other Brothers participating in the Masonic Burial Service: Fergus Lodge 135: Charles Rutledge, Donald Allgood, Donald Brown, Herman McCart, Kevin Brown, Kevin Haney, Lamar Dalton, Patrick Slocum, Robert McCart, & Wendell Geiger. Grayson Lodge 549: John Callahan & 2 Brothers from Generous Waren Lodge in Monroe. 21 February 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Five Fellowcraft were raised to Master Masons. It was a wonderful rainy night in Georgia. 08/09 February 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held a Brunswick Stew Cook & Sale and the Eastern Star Ladies held a Bake Sale. The Brunswick Stew was outstanding and the sale were good. Thanks to all who supported the Stew Cook & Sale. 07 February 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. We had a packed house with members and guest. Six Fellowcraft were raised to Master Masons. 17 January 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting. Worshipful Master Todd McCampbell presided. Five Entered Apprentices were advanced to Fellowcraft Degrees. Brother John Deaton, Jr. did a superb job of presenting the Masonic Journey Stairway Lecture and the “G” Lecture. It was agreed to allow the Eastern Star Ladies do have a Bake Sale with the Lodge's Brunswick Stew Sale on 9 February 2008. 10 January 2008, Fergus Lodge 135 website was approved by the Grand Lodge of Georgia General Welfare Committee. We were told we have a Nice page and were authorized to go live. The link has been posted to the Grand Lodge Web site. 07 January 2008 - the website was submitted to the Grand Lodge of Georgia General Welfare Committee for approval. 03 January 2008 - Fergus Lodge 135 held its regular bimonthly meeting.
